Description

The present work is devoted to the rapidly accelerated world of the early 21st century.

It is divided into four sections: The first part is about the predicament the Generation Y, the people born between 1979–1992, has to deal with. By now, almost everything is possible, but it seems that we are not getting anywhere. The desire for self-realization and a free life, preclude performance pressure and competition. The second chapter is about the triggers that are already set into our minds in our childhood and school days on this performance-oriented thinking and action.

In the third part the potential consequences of the drive for perfection and self-exploitation are presented. The last part consists of five workpieces that have been made with the analogue printing technique Rubber Stamping. The works are an approach for the author to evade the efficiency dogma and to work in a jauntily creative way.
